Cut a piece of fabric large enough to cover piece #5. Place it right sides together over piece #1, aligning edges.
Turn the paper back over to the PRINTED side, holding the fabrics in place while you do so. Sew along the line between pieces #1 and #5 (no need to backstitch). Snip threads off and trim seam allowance to ¼”.
Open piece #5 right side up. Finger press the seam (or you can use the tip of your iron).
Continue with the remaining pieces, following the numbers in order, until you have sewn all the pieces onto your foundation.

Once you have sewn all the pieces, trim the edges of the block down to the line of the seam allowances.
Some people prefer to leave the paper attached to the blocks until they've sewn all their blocks together, to be able to sew along the printed seam lines for accuracy. This is a matter of personal preference. In any case, don't forget to remove the paper before you start preparing your quilt top for quilting!
