Sewing the Blocks

Once you have decided on a design you like for each side of your quilt, you can begin to prepare your "blocks." Place the first hexagon for the front side of your quilt right sides together with the first hexagon for the back side of the quilt. Place both pieces on a batting hexagon. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, sew all three layers together, leaving an opening on one side to be able to turn the piece inside out:

Trim seams and clip corners. Turn the piece inside out, making sure all corners are turned (push gently with tip of scissors). Slip-stitch opening closed.

Repeat this process with all your hexagons.
